A WyoLotto player has etched his name in the history books as the largest Mega Millions winner of all time.

The man, who has chosen to remain anonymous, won a guaranteed $1 million in the March 22 drawing, but because he spent an additional $1 for the Megaplier, his winnings were multiplied to $5 million. When the winnings are added up, the man will take home a staggering $3.75 million.

WyoLotto says the winning ticket was purchased on January 26 at the Pilot Travel Center on Bear River Drive in Evanston.

"Having a WyoLotto player as the biggest winner in the nation for this Mega Millions draw is incredibly exciting for us," said WyoLotto CEO Jon Clontz. "Helping make a player a millionaire is one of my favorite parts of the job."

Clontz says the player has worked as a manual laborer his entire life and has always played Quick Pick tickets for his favorite games, including Mega Millions. He will now be able to retire, help his children and buy a new home to share with his wife.

"Seeing a prize like this change lives for the better is really what these games are all about," said Clontz.
