NORTH PLATTE, Neb. (AP) — A Wyoming man has pleaded not guilty to a reduced charge of attempted bank robbery for an failed heist in western Nebraska.

North Platte television station KNOP-TV reports that 52-year old Tracy Black plead not guilty Monday in Lincoln County District Court.

Black had originally been charged with robbery, but a prosecutor reduced the charge to attempted robbery after reviewing the case. Black is to appear in court again on Oct. 29. His bail was reduced from $250,000 to $125,000.

Police say Black and 20-year old Drew Steier, also believed to be from Wyoming, are accused of trying to rob the Farmer State Bank in Wallace last August. Police say they fled the bank without any money.
