The woman who was found dead on Interstate 25 north of Casper on Tuesday has been identified by the Natrona County Coroner's Office on Thursday.

Cecilia Griffin, 54, was from Albuquerque, N.M., according to a prepared statement from Coroner Connie Jacobson.

Natrona County Sheriff Gus Holbrook said his office received a report about 8:15 p.m. Tuesday of a woman by her vehicle on the shoulder of the highway near mile post 190.

Griffin died of a self-inflicted gunshot wound, and no autopsy will be performed, according to the statement.

Her family has been notified, according to the statement.
