A Casper woman accused of helping her boyfriend escape a grand jury indictment had her initial appearance in Circuit Court Monday. Crystal Inez Ferrell, 23, was arrested Sunday evening and charged with interference.

According to police affidavit, Ferrell is thought to have borrowed a silver, boxy looking vehicle that an informant said resembled a toaster to drive her boyfriend down to Denver on Friday, the same day Wyoming Division of Criminal Investigation agents made dozens of arrests in a drug sting operation in Casper.

When police contacted Ferrell Sunday evening, she was reportedly intoxicated and defiant, shouting obscenities at the officers. Police did verify from the owner of a vehicle matching the description, that Ferrell and the fugitive borrowed the vehicle.

In Circuit Court, Ferrell pleaded not guilty. Circuit Court Judge Michael Huber set bond at $1,000 cash or surety.
