A man who lead police on a chase, ramming a police car and later crashed pleaded not guilty to two felony counts of aggravated assault and three misdemeanors in Natrona County District Court on Friday.

Bin Christopher Williams, represented by public defender Rob Oldham, entered the pleas during his arraignment before Natrona County District Judge Thomas Sullins.

The charges are two virtually identical counts of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, driving under the influence, eluding police and interference with a peace officer.

If convicted on all counts, Williams faces up to 20 years behind bars.

The case began early Sept. 12, when an Evansville police officer tried to stop him driving a red Dodge pickup erratically on Wyoming Boulevard near Interstate 25, according to court documents.

The officer suspected he was driving under the influence, and a license check revealed him to be Williams, who had three prior arrests for DUI

Instead of stopping, he continued driving, entered Casper city limits, where Casper police joined the chase.

Williams turned back toward Evansville, and hit the Evansville officer’s car.

Multiple spike strips were used, and all four tires were blown, but he kept driving on the truck’s rims.

He eventually crashed, and police found him incoherently asking if he were dead and in heaven.

He admitted taking PCP and blood was drawn to determine his blood alcohol content.

Sullins set the trial date for Jan. 15, 2015.
