A homeless man will spend time in prison, after admitting he stole a four-wheeler from a Casper business.

Thirty-six year old William Barton given a seven-to-nine year prison sentence, after pleading guilty to one charge of burglary and one charge of property destruction.

Investigators say in July, barton was working his way from Denver to Sheridan, when he stole a four-wheeler from Driven Power Sports on English Avenue and continued his trip on backroads.

One day later, deputies from the Sheridan County Sheriff’s Office were sent to investigate a man on a four-wheeler begging for money.

They found Barton, and were able to connect him to the four-wheeler burglary.

Barton also admitted to damaging another four-wheeler when he attempted to hot-wire it.
