LARAMIE, Wyo. (AP) — Work will begin soon on renovating the 12-story White Hall on the University of  Wyoming campus.

The $12 million White Hall project is the final piece of a major project over about the last 10 years to upgrade UW residence halls.

The UW Board of Trustees voted last week to allow work to begin this month on the White Hall project.

The project will include increased lounge space and improved computer labs, study rooms and fire suppression systems.

It is scheduled to be done before the start of the 2013 fall semester classes.

White Hall was originally constructed in 1967.
