Website Contractors Cast Blame on White House

WASHINGTON (AP) — Leading contractors responsible for the government's trouble-plagued health insurance website are saying the Obama administration shares responsibility for snags that have crippled the system.

Executives representing the two main companies, CGI Federal and QSSI, are testifying Thursday before the House Energy and Commerce Committee.

CGI Federal built the federal HealthCare.gov website serving 36 states. QSSI designed a backroom operation for verifying applicants' income and other personal details.

The hearing comes as President Barack Obama's allies are starting to fret about the political fallout from computer problems keeping uninsured Americans from signing up through new online markets.
