Wyoming's mountains could very well see more snow this week.

According to a hazardous weather outlook posted by the National Weather Service early Monday, rain and mountain snow are expected to increase over western Wyoming on Monday night.

Tuesday will see a strong cold front sweep east across the area, with a continuing chance for light snow in the mountains.

A "good chance" of some mountain snowfall will be present at times on Wednesday, with possible snow down to the valley and basin floor in western Wyoming. Very windy conditions are expected between Rock Springs and Casper, as well as in the mountains.

Significant mountain snowfall is possible over the northwestern mountains on Thursday, according to the National Weather Service.

Friday night through Saturday night, expect the possibility of widespread mountain snowfall and valley rain, mainly along and east of the Continental Divide. In some areas east of the divide, rain could lower to valley floors.

As of Monday, the National Weather Service forecast for Casper calls for a low of 36 F Tuesday night into the early hours of Wednesday. That's the lowest temperature expected in Casper this week at this point, according to the NWS.

The week's highest temperature is expected today, with a high of 78 F, while conditions are expected to be mostly sunny and breezy.
