A 30-year-old Rock Springs man who was originally sentenced to prison for heroin trafficking was arrested in Rock Springs this week, according to a release from the Sweetwater County Sheriff's Department.

Darren Olson was originally charged with heroin distribution resulting in an overdose death. In 2015, he was sentenced in federal court to 41 months in federal prison for conspiracy to possess with intent to distribute and distribution of heroin.

In September 2016 Olson was released from federal prison and ordered to serve 4 years of supervised release.  But Olson had his parole revoked last month after being arrested for DUI and a variety of other violations.

He was wanted by the U.S. Marshalls Service and was arrested Tuesday by Sweetwater County Sheriff's detectives. At last report, he was being held in the Sweetwater County Jail. He is facing a possible sentence of up to three years in federal prison.
