Voting Could Get Easier

CHEYENNE, Wyo. (AP) — Wyoming lawmakers propose to change voting location requirements so that people would be able to vote at any polling place in their home county.

The Legislature's Joint Corporations, Elections and Political Subdivisions Interim Committee agreed to sponsor the bill earlier this year.

Committee co-chairman Rep. Dan Zwonitzer says the proposal could save time, effort and money, as well as make it easier for people to vote.

Secretary of State-elect Ed Murray also says he supports the concept made possible by switching to electronic pollbooks instead of paper pollbooks to check people in when they show up to vote.

The measure could come up for a vote in the next legislative session, which begins Jan. 13.
