A Casper man is heading to prison for sexually assaulting a young girl.

Vince Washington was sentenced to six-to-eight years at the Wyoming State Penitentiary, after entering an Alford plea to one charge of second degree sexual assault of a minor.

Prosecutors say last August, a ten year old girl told her mother and the child advocacy project that Washington had touched her inappropriately several times, and that he tried to get her to touch him in the same manner.

The girl told investigators that when she tried to move away, he threatened to punch her in the face, and told her to lie to her mother about the incident.
