As expected, a very strong cold front has brought a very cold surge of air to the state.  Most areas will not get out of the single digits and teens today, with only a few 20s here and there for daytime highs.  With freshly fallen snow and clearing skies late it will be a bitterly cold night with lows steady in the single digits.  Some high elevation valleys may see patchy fog form tonight into Friday morning.

The wind was strong along the front, but has since calmed down.  However, even a small amount of wind will lead wind chills down into the single digits below zero.

Scattered snow showers are still being found in many portions of the state and are expected to continue through late this afternoon, with additional light accumulations.  A Winter Weather Advisory is in effect for a good portion of the state through 5 PM.

Conditions will clear out late tonight and Friday.  Expect more sun tomorrow, but do not let that fool you as it will be another chilly

day with highs only in the 20s and 30s.
