LARAMIE, Wyo. (AP) — University of Wyoming trustees will discuss their upcoming search for a new president during a special meeting.

The closed meeting will take place in Laramie on Friday.

UW President Tom Buchanan plans to retire at the end of next summer. University officials say the trustees will talk about appointing a consultant to help with the search for Buchanan's successor.

The trustees plan to follow the closed meeting with an open session.
