LARAMIE, Wyo. (AP) — The University of Wyoming Board of Trustees is meeting for the first time since President Bob Sternberg's resignation after less than five months on the job.

The board scheduled a special meeting for Friday. It will first gather in closed session to discuss personnel and property matters, followed by a public session.

When the board last met about a month ago, it was surprised by Sternberg's resignation, effective Dec. 31.

The board has not yet discussed openly how it will go about searching for a new president. Under a state law enacted last winter, the board can conduct its search entirely in secret.

However, the UW Faculty Senate has said it wants the names of finalists publicized well in advance of a decision by the regents.
