The University of Wyoming Police Department is seeking the public’s help in identifying two men suspected of felony property destruction of UW athletics facilities early this morning.

According to UW Police Chief Mike Samp, police received a report of damage at the War Memorial Fieldhouse at about 5:30 a.m. today. Soon after that report, additional damage was located in the UniWyo Sports complex.

Samp says the incident is still under investigation, but it is “clearly going to broach the felony level damage.”

Based on video surveillance, the incident is believed to have occurred shortly before the officers received the report.

A witness in the area reported possibly seeing the suspects leave the university in a faded red pickup believed to be a Toyota.

Samp says rough estimations based on video surveillance estimate the men to be between 5’8” and 5’10” tall and weigh between 150 to 170 pounds.

“At this point, dollar estimates are still being computed and the actual damage is being investigated, but we would certainly appreciate the public’s assistance on locating these suspects,” says Samp.

Anyone with information is asked to call the UWPD at (307) 766-5179 or by using the anonymous text line 847411/TIP411 using the keyword UWYO.
