UW Business Students Lunch with Warren and Jimmy Buffett

20 University of Wyoming finance students had a chance to lunch with Warren Buffet last week. It was part of a five hour session offered by one of the world's most successful investors and richest men.

Hilla Skiba, is an assistant finance professor at the University of Wyoming and she says they were surprised when a second Buffet joined them for lunch.

"When Warren Buffet sat down at the table they put a reserve sign across the table from him. We were kind of

wondering who was going to show up. We thought maybe it was his wife, but then it was

Jimmy Buffet."

The musician is a Berkshire Hathaway shareholder, but also a friend of the elder Buffet. Students were treated to an impromptu performance.

As it happened, Warren Buffet had received his cancer diagnosis two days earlier. Skiba says, throughout the luncheon, there was no indication of anything wrong, something, she suggests, was further inspiration for the students.

"I think its very, very, good for these future leaders of our country to see that in finance you don't get rich over night. It takes a long time, but it's also possible to get there without sacrificing your ethics and so on."

Berkshire Hathaway and Warren Buffet offer the event for students every year in Omaha.
