The University of Wyoming has hired Bill Mai to serve as vice president for administration.

Mai is currently senior economic advisor to Gov. Matt Mead and administrator of the state's Economic Analysis Division. Mail will begin work at UW on November 6th, filling a position that has been vacant since Spring 2012.

UW President Bob Sternberg says Mail will be an outstanding addition to the management team. Sternberg praised Mai's understanding of the state economy and says he looks forward to working with Mai on the university's annual legislative funding requests.

Mai graduated from UW with a bachelor's degree in range management in 1987 and a master's of business administration in 1989.
