A Casper man who once taught at a school, is heading to prison after admitting he had sexual contact with a then-14 year old girl.

Twenty-four year old Tyler Russell was sentenced to three-to-12 years in prison, in a case in which he pleaded guilty, to two counts of third degree sexual abuse of a minor.

Police began an investigation after concern was raised by the victim’s mother, who said she had observed explicit conversation and numerous nude photos, that had been exchanged over online social networking.

Police say during an interview with Russell, he admitted having sexual relations with the victim, between October and December of 2013.

Russell had been teaching at Centennial Junior High School in Casper.
