Wildlife officials say two men have been charged after at least five mule deer were illegally killed on the animals' winter range near Pinedale.

The Associated Press  reports 27-year-old Thomas Drago faces 10 charges and 27-year-old Angel Escobar faces six charges stemming from the illegal hunts.

Wyoming Game and Fish warden Jordan Kraft says wildlife officials believe the deer were poached Nov. 4 and Nov. 5 as well as three or four weeks earlier. Little meat was taken from any of the animals, and some were missing their heads, antlers and back straps. One deer was shot on the edge of a subdivision, and the majority of the deer were killed on private land.
