A single vehicle rollover crash on Tuesday resulted in two deaths on Wyoming State Highway 789. The crash occurred at 5:11 p.m. approximately five miles southwest of Shoshoni, Wyoming.

A small SUV was being driven southbound on WY 789 by 42 year old Rupert D. Goggles Jr. of St. Stephens, Wyoming.

The truck initially drifted off the highway before being overcorrected. The overcorrection sent it into a slide. The vehicle left the roadway, tripped and rolled. During the rollover, both Mr. Goggles and a passenger, 42 year old Thurlo R. Tidzump of Arapahoe, Wyoming, were ejected as they were not wearing their seat belts.

Tidzump died at the scene. Mr. Goggles died en route to the hospital. Alcohol use and speed are being investigated as contributing factors in this crash. Mr. Goggles and Mr. Tidzump are projected to be the 50th and 51st highway fatalities in Wyoming for 2015. There were 53 fatalities during this same time period in 2014.
