The Wyoming Highway Patrol is investigating a crash that claimed the lives of a Casper man and a Kansas man. Officials say around 5:30 a.m. Friday, 25-year-old Justin Steele of Wichita was driving a Ford Explorer northbound on the Interstate-25 frontage road about nine miles north of Casper, when the vehicle veered off the road and flipped several times.

Investigators say Steele, and a passenger, 22-year-old Brandon Calliham of Casper, were ejected from the SUV. Both died from their injuries. A passenger, 32-year-old Christopher Mott of Douglas, was taken to Wyoming Medical Center in Casper for treatment of his injuries.  According to Troopers, Steele and Mott were not wearing seatbelts.  They say Calliham was using a seat belt, but not properly.

Officials say troopers are investigating excessive speed and possible alcohol use as contributing factors in the crash.
