1:30 PM UPDATE: Union Pacific spokesman Calli Hite has confirmed that the collision involved two UP trains. One was hauling coal and the other was an Intermodal Train hauling commercial goods. 

The collision happened at 9:45 Monday night, and there were no fatalities or serious injuries.

10 AM UPDATE: Townsquare Media reporter Tracie Perkins has confirmed with Union Pacific that this was a train on train incident, implying a collision. The National Transportation Safety Board has an investigative team on the way and will take over the investigation.

Castle Rock Ambulance Services says they were called to the scene at 10pm Monday night and took an unknown number of the injured to Memorial Hospital of Sweetwater County. The injuries were said to not be serious.

Media reports say there has been a freight train derailment in Sweetwater County.

The publication Sweetwater Now says the train left the tracks between Granger and Tronox.

There is no report yet on injuries or damage.
