"The center will close for Christmas at 2:30 on Friday, December 23rd, and then reopen on Tuesday, December 27th. The Trails Center will close at 2:30 on Friday, December 30th, and open back on Tuesday, January 3rd."

Leslie Elser, public affairs specialist with the BLM Casper field office, says they still have their model train exhibit up and running.

Model railroading:

"They have the train exhibit up there still for everyone to come up and visit. It's pretty neat; there's five different trains you can operate. They can call the Trails Center at 261-2260."

The NHTIC is a public-private partnership between the BLM and the National Historic Trails Center Foundation. The facility is located at 1501 N. Poplar Street, Casper, WY.
