A recent traffic stop in Cheyenne led to the seizure of 78 grams of methamphetamine, according to a police spokesman.

Officer Dan Long says officers stopped a vehicle in the 4100 block of East 7th street on August 1 for a routine traffic violation. Long says while officers were interviewing the driver they noticed an open container of alcohol and a gun inside the car. Long says the driver, 40 year old Cody Clark of Cheyenne, was found to be a felon who cannot legally possess a firearm.

He says officers searched Clark and the area around him and found the meth. Clark was arrested on charges of sales/delivery of methamphetamine and being a felon in possession of a firearm.

Long says the bust was a significant  one for Cheyenne, adding ''It's a win whenever we get a big one like this". He also says the case remains under investigation.
