Tracy Matekovic Waives Preliminary Hearing In Fatal DUI Case
The case involving a Bar Nunn man accused of being involved in a fatal wreck is moving forward.
Thirty-three year old Tracy Matekovic has waived his preliminary hearing in a case in which he has been charged with DUI resulting in serious bodily injury.
According to law enforcement, in December, officials were called to the intersection of Highway 20/26 and North Six Mile Road west of Casper for a two-vehicle head on collision.
Investigators say Matekovic was driving in the wrong lane of travel, when he collided head-on with another vehicle driven by 38-year old Chris Sanders, who was pronounced dead at the scene.
A Wyoming Highway Patrol Trooper said that Matekovic had a strong odor of alcohol coming from him.
Matekovic is free on $15,000 bond awaiting trial and could face up to 20 years in prison if convicted.
He has three prior DUI's on his record.
