TORRINGTON, Wyo. (AP) — State regulators have denied a hike in electric rates for out-of-town customers getting their power from Torrington.

The Wyoming Public Service Commission denied the 9.8 percent rate increase on Monday in Cheyenne.

The Torrington Telegram (http://bit.ly/taeGjl) reported that the temporary increase took effect last fall to match an increase being paid by customers in town.

The commission and city officials will likely meet next month to talk about refunding the extra money charged because of the increase.
