Two men have been arrested in a drug related case where one is accused from stealing from the other, and got beat up as a result.

Thirty-year old Thomas Phelps, is facing one charge of aggravated assault and battery, and one charge of attempted robbery, while 31-year old Cameron Ahadi is facing one charge of burglary.

Investigators say in middle June, Ahadi met Phelps at the North Casper Soccer Complex to purchase some marijuana.

Phelps approached Ahadi who was in his vehicle, hit Ahadi in the face and threw him out of his car.

Ahadi claims he blacked out after that, but witnesses nearby say Phelps beat Ahadi's head into the asphalt, then went through his wallet, and left the scene.

When interviewed, Phelps admitted to committing the assault, because he suspected that Ahadi had burglarized his place several days prior.

Eventually, Ahadi admitted to the burglary, saying that he broke a window, entered the residence, and stole some marijuana, but injured himself on the window glass and left some blood on the scene.

Both Phelps and Ahadi are awaiting trial and could each face up to 10 years in prison on their respective charges if convicted.
