Thermopolis Man Dies In Motorcycle Crash
A Thermopolis man died in a motorcycle crash about 10 miles south of Thermopolis at 10:18 p.m. Friday, according to a news release from the Wyoming Highway Patrol.
Jacob M. Linn, 61, was riding a 1990 Harley-Davidson motorcycle north on U.S. Highway 20 when he failed to properly negotiate a right-hand curve in the road, according to the news release from Patrol Sgt. David Wagener.
The motorcycle left the northbound lane, crossed the southbound lane and struck a guardrail. Linn was thrown from the motorcycle down an embankment and died at the scene. He was not wearing a helmet at the time of the crash.
The Highway Patrol is investigating excessive speed as the contributing factor in this crash.
His death marked the 68th highway fatality in Wyoming for 2015 compared to 70 fatalities this time last year.
