"The Virginian" James Drury In Medicine Bow, Wyoming This Weekend [AUDIO]

Having spent our first 2 years in Wyoming on a ranch outside Medicine Bow, Wyoming, the Bow Days Celebration has always held a place in my heart.

As a child, events like riding your tricycle in the parade, seeing the hanging of “Dutch Charley” or visiting with the green eyed lady in the rock shop, builds memories that the years never diminish. The celebration this year is enhanced by the 100th anniversary of the Virginian Hotel. As a part of the anniversary, the one and only “Virginian” from the 60′s television show  of the same name, James Drury, will be calling Medicine Bow home this weekend.

We talked with James about the show, his ties to Medicine Bow and more.

Friday: Princess Pageant 3:30 pm

James Drury Dinner – 7 PM  Virginian Hotel

Class Reunion  Happy Hour – 7 PM The Dip

Mayoral Address  – steps of old merchantile/postoffice  10:30

Wind River Dancers  – 1:00 PM Museum

Kite Flying Contest  – 4 PM location TBA

Historic Virginian Hotel 100th Anniversary Street Dance  – 7 PM

Other events include:  Slick Pig at the Old West, Bull Chip Toss, Chicken Bingo,

Stick Horse Rodeo, Tug-o-War, Food ,crafts, Games, and Races. events will

be held across the Front of Town from the Old West to the Dip, and back in

the Town Park and Community Hall.
