Texas Rich Kid Avoids Jail After DUI Arrest [VIDEO]

A Texas teenager is going to walk away with a slap on the wrist after killing four people on a Texas roadside while under the influence of alcohol and prescription drugs.

His own defense attorney said he suffered from a case of “affluenza” and blamed the parents of 16-year-old Ethan Couch for killing four people in a drunk driving accident.

Couch was facing up to two decades behind bars for his June car crash, but he escaped from a jail term in a Fort Worth, Texas courtroom on Tuesday with 10 years’ probation.

His lawyers were able to convince the judge to allow their client get counseling at a fancy Southern California rehab center, that’ll cost $500,000 a year, rather than do time in jail.

The teenager was high on booze and Valium when he lost control of his pick-up track and crashed into a stalled car at the side of the road in Burleson, Texas. Those who died that night included 24-year-old Breanna Mitchell, whose car was broken down, as well as three Good Samaritans who stopped to help her, 52-year-old Hollie Boyles and her 21-year-old daughter Shelby, and youth pastor 41-year-old Brian Jennings.
