Winter Storm Blasts Western Wyoming

CHEYENNE, Wyo. (AP) — Heavy snow in western Wyoming is providing fresh powder for the state's premier ski resort area with Jackson Hole Mountain Resort recording 20 inches in as many hours.

But it's also prompting avalanche warnings for the surrounding mountains where up to 46 inches has fallen with more expected before the storm subsides Friday morning

Updated Winter Weather Warnings, Advisories For Wyoming

The National Weather Service has issued a Winter Weather Advisory for the Casper area and portions of the state through early tomorrow morning. There are also Winter Storm Warnings for portions of the Big Horn and Absaroka Mountains as well as the Sheridan area until early tomorrow morning.

Significant Snowfall Expected In Parts Of Wyoming

CHEYENNE, Wyo. (AP) — A storm system moving across Wyoming is expected to bring some significant snowfall.

About 8 inches had fallen in Buffalo and Cody by Friday morning. The National Weather Service said the storm will also impact western Wyoming before moving to Sweetwater and Natrona counties later in the day into Saturday
