BREAKING NEWS – Wildfire Threatens Homes Off Cole Creek Road

A wildfire is burning east of Casper off of Coal Creek Road.

Dave Baker, with Natrona County Fire District says the fire has burned between 5 and 10 acres. He says several units are on scene and they have primary containment though numerous structures remain threatened

Firefighters Quench Small Grass Fire [AUDIO]

Fire crews from Casper, Mills and the Natrona Fire District responded to a grass fire on the northwest side of Casper Sunday night. The Natrona County Sheriff's Department was also at the scene.

Midwest, Edgerton Seek Firefighting EQ Dollars

Fire fighting equipment doesn't fit very well into the fire hall in Midwest and two of their trucks have been downgraded after 30 years of service.

The towns of Edgerton and Midwest are both in sore need of a firefighting  upgrade.  Recognizing their need  the towns are looking for the dollars to make it happen. Grant writing is part of that process and the Natrona County Commission on Tuesday agreed to help out with $8,000 to get the process going.

Burning Produce Trailer Shuts Interstate

A Semi trailer fire shut down I-25 north of Casper Tuesday evening.  Natrona County Fire Investigator Dave Baker says the 53 foot refrigerator truck full of apples was  engulfed in flames when fire firefighters arrived. Fortunately, Baker says, the quick actions of the driver prevented further damage..
