A proposed bill that would increase the fuel tax in Wyoming has been submitted to the Wyoming legislature for consideration at the upcoming budget session.
Three pavement preservation projects made possible by increased state fuel tax revenue, were awarded by the Wyoming Transportation Commission during its November meeting.
The 10-cent fuel tax hike lawmakers passed earlier in the year went into effect July 1. It is expected to generate $72.4 million a year for the state. But only about $47 million of that goes to highways each year.
