UPDATE:

Fortunately, no one was injured when a man suspected to be on heroin crashed his car into a fence in south Cheyenne on Wednesday morning.

Cheyenne Police Department spokesman Officer Kevin Malatesta says police were called to the 700 block of Russell Avenue around 11 a.m.

"The first officer on scene actually found the driver of the vehicle was unresponsive," said Malatesta. "That officer successfully pulled that person out of the vehicle and basically gave him chest compressions until paramedics arrived."

"There was evidence there to indicate that the driver had overdosed on heroin and firefighters gave a successful dose of Narcan to the driver and that roused him, basically brought him back," Malatesta added.

The driver, 22-year-old Troy Painter of Cheyenne, was cited for driving under the influence of a controlled substance, misdemeanor possession of heroin and failing to maintain a lane.
