The Cody Police Department is looking for an armed man suspected of abducting a young girl Monday from the Park County Complex. Investigators say the suspect lured the minor into his car by asking for help in locating his missing puppy. According to police, he then threatened the girl with a gun. She was found Monday night, and has been reunited with her family.

The suspect is described as a White male, 55-to-60 years old, weighing about 200 pounds with short strawberry-blonde or white hair. He had a neatly or newly trimmed mustache or beard, and was wearing a brown shirt, blue jeans and a tan baseball cap.

The man was driving a white SUV with two grey leather seats in the front, and the back compartment contained a mattress on the floor. The license plates are not known, and authorities believe the suspect may be living in the vehicle. There was a black and red backpack and package of bottled water tied to the vehicle’s roof rack.

The suspect is considered armed and dangerous. Anyone with information in the case is urged to contact 911 or the Cody Police Department at 307-527-8700.
