Officials say it was a strong December and a strong 2012 for Casper-Natrona County International Airport.

Airport manager Glenn Januska says the number of passengers leaving CPR increased 41.5 percent for the month of December. Januska also says 2012 was a banner year.

“Compared to December of 2011, we ended up with 9,557 passengers in the month total,” Januska said. “That translates into a 13.5 percent increase in passengers for the year.”

Januska says he expects the upward momentum to continue into 2013.

“We started to see most of those larger gains in about the mid-part of the year, so there was a stronger increase in the second part of the year compared to the first,” Januska said. “Going into 2013, we should start off with a really good year.”

Januska says December of 2012 was the 11th consecutive month of increased traffic at the airport compared to previous year figures.
