Casper Letter Carriers will join carriers across the State of Wyoming and the Nation in America’s largest one day food drive.
Simply fill a bag with non-perishable items and set it by your mailbox. Your Letter Carrier will pick up the food and take it to Wyoming Food Bank of the Rockies. From their it is distributed to Meals on Wheels, Salvation Army, Central Wyoming Rescue Mission, Joshua’s House, about 47 hunger relief agencies in Natrona County. All the food collected will stay in the county it is collected in. If you put out your food in Douglas, Newcastle, Evansville or even Cheyenne; it will be picked up by your letter carrier and taken to a local food bank.
This year the United Way of Natrona County has donated bags for the letter carriers to deliver along with the postcards provided by Campbell’s Soup. The girl scouts have agreed to help the carriers get donations back to the post office. Your generous donation is appreciated.
If you do not receive street delivery you may still contribute by dropping off donations at any post office the week before the drive. We will even be taking donations at the dock doors on May 14 at 411 N. Forest and at both the East and West side Albertsons.Last year Casper letter carriers collected over 47,000 lbs. of food and cash donations for the hungry in Natrona County. The NEED IS GREAT. Rene Eberhardt from the Casper Post Office joined us this morning to talk about the event.
