A woman is stabbed while parked at a convenience store in north Casper.

At about ten p.m. Thursday night, police received a report that a woman had been stabbed multiple times while parked at the Common Cents convenience store located on North Poplar Street.

"Both the suspect and the victim were in a vehicle sitting in the parking lot. The suspect exited the vehicle and fled the area at that point, the victim had exited the vehicle and then walked into the front doors of the convenience store, of course requesting help."

The woman, whose name has not been released yet, was rushed by ambulance to the Wyoming Medical Center where she underwent surgery and is reported to be in stable condition.

The thirty-four-year-old suspect, Steven Monroe, was located a few blocks away and arrested shortly after eleven p.m.

At his initial court appearance Friday afternoon, the prosecuting attorney labeled Monroe as a threat to the community and bond was set at five-hundred thousand dollars.
