A spring storm is expected to make for hazardous travel in areas of southeastern and central Wyoming through the middle of Thursday.

K2 Radio Meteorologist Don Day of DayWeather says Interstate 80 will see a high travel impact as a result of the storm, while I-25 should see a moderate impact and I-90 will see a low impact.

Rain, fog and snow are expected for areas above 6,000 feet along I-80 and I-25 Wednesday afternoon through Thursday morning.

Areas of rain and thunderstorm activity are expected to develop along the I-80 corridor, across east-central and central Wyoming, through the southern end of the Wind River Basin and to the Utah state line. Wet roadways and limited visibility should be present in these areas during the course of Wednesday and into Thursday morning.

Wednesday night, areas of rain and snow should turn to snow in areas above 6,000 feet from portions of central Laramie County including Cheyenne, along the Laramie Range through the summit area, through the Laramie Valley, areas east of Rawlins, through Saratoga and the Snowy Range.

In those areas, heavy, wet spring snow could develop along with very limited visibility and areas of fog. That's through Wednesday night through the middle to late morning hours of Thursday.

Weather is expected to improve Thursday afternoon.
