A Casper man will avoid prison time after admitting to having inappropriate pictures of children on his computer.

Sonny Shepperson was given a four-to-six year suspended prison sentence, with five years of probation, after he pleaded guilty to one count of possession of child pornography.

Agents with the Wyoming Division of Criminal Investigation's Internet Crimes Against Children unit say in January 2013, they became aware of a computer in Casper that had been downloading child pornography and traced it back to Shepperson's computer.

Through a search, agents found more than 60 files of child pornography on a computer hard drive and flash drive.

Prosecutors recommended the sentence because Shepperson has no prior felony convictions on his record and he has some serious health conditions.

They also said they felt he was not a danger to the community.
