Someone is Poisoning Animals Near Meeteetse

CODY, Wyo. (AP) — Veterinarians have confirmed that the chemical used to poison several animals in the Meeteetse area was an insecticide that is known to be highly toxic to animals.

The Wyoming State Veterinary Laboratory identified the toxin Tuesday as aldicarb, which is sold under the trade name Temik.

The Bureau of Land Management is offering a $2,000 reward for information leading to the identification, arrest and conviction of whoever was involved in the poisoning of animals between March 29 and April 4.

Three dogs, a coyote, a skunk, a raccoon and several other animals died in the Timber Creek area because of what appears to be intentional poisoning.
