People receiving benefits from Social Security will be receiving payments on time, amid the Government Shutdown.

As a result of the Federal Government shutdown, officials with the Social Security Field Office in Denver, which covers Wyoming, are saying that they are experiencing higher than normal call volume at their offices, with people voicing concerns about the shutdown.

According to a representative of the Social Security Agency, some services will be suspended during the shut down such as getting Social Security and Medicare cards, however it is important to note that people receiving social security benefits should not see an interruption in their regular payments.

Officials with the Social Security Department say that if people do see a problem with their regular Social Security payment, limited staff are available at regional field offices to help them. Further, services at the Social Security website are still functioning as well.
