Many people are busy preparing to file their income tax returns. Keith Hall with the National Association for the Self-employed says it's not always necessary to hire an accountant to file your returns because of the vast resources available on the Internet. He cautions that professional help might be beneficial if there have been any major changes in your business.

"In a year that you've got something new or you've got something complicated. Maybe its the first year you're a small business owner. Maybe you bought some equipment and your not sure how the depreciation calculation works. That's a good year to consider using a professional."
