Skiers Rank Wyoming Resort Best In The West

JACKSON, Wyo. (AP) — Jackson Hole Mountain Resort is ranked the No. 1 western ski resort by readers of Ski Magazine.

The publication released its annual readers poll last week.

Jackson Hole moved up from last year's No. 6 ranking to capture first place in the survey, which drew about 40,000 responses.

Readers were asked to rate resorts they had visited in the past two years on a scale of one to 10 in 20 categories. Categories ranged from terrain to grooming, variety, family programs, character and dining, among others.

Ski editor Greg Ditrinco tells the Associated Press that a resort needs to perform well in all 20 categories to win the top ranking.
