A Casper man is accused of hurting children while out on bond.

Thirty year old Shawn Gangwish has pleaded not guilty to nine felony charges of child abuse, one felony charge of aggravated assault and battery with a drawn deadly weapon, three misdemeanor charges of domestic battery, and one misdemeanor charge of disturbing the peace.

Investigators with the Casper Police Department, say the children described various instances such as one being thrown to the ground and losing consciousness, one having his hand slammed in a door requiring a cast, and one being hit with a flashlight.

All of the instances are alleged to have occurred in 2016.

One child said Gangwish once broke their phones so that no one could be contacted about the abuse.

Natrona County Prosecutors say Gangwish was out on bond for a domestic battery arrest that occurred in June, at the time some of the alleged crimes were committed.

Gangwish is awaiting trial on a $50,000 cash only bond.

He could face up to 10 years in prison on each child abuse and the aggravated assault charge, and up to six months in jail on each of the misdemeanor charges if convicted.
