Trial is scheduled to start against a Natrona County man accused of sex crimes against a number of victims.

Shaun Hamilton has pleaded not guilty to one count of first degree sexual assault, one count of first degree sexual abuse of a minor, and three counts of second degree sexual abuse of a minor.

Investigators with the Casper Police Department say in January 2015, the then 12-year old victim described what had happened, and said Hamilton was the one who did it.

Detectives collected DNA evidence from the scene where the crime was alleged to have occurred, and the DNA was later identified as Hamilton’s.

Another victim claimed she also was assaulted by Hamilton back in 2009, when she was 18, and provided a written statement for police.

The trial is scheduled for four days starting on Monday, February 1st.

Hamilton could face between five to 50 years in prison on the first degree sexual assault charge, between 25-to-50 years in prison on each of the first degree sexual abuse of a minor charges, and up to 20 years in prison on each of the second degree sexual abuse of a minor charges, if convicted.
