A former armored security employee will only serve probation after admitted to taking money from bags that were supposed to be delivered to a bank.

Twenty-three year old Jystin Obert pleaded guilty to one charge of grand larceny and Wednesday was granted first time offender status, and sentenced to three-to-five years of probation.

If he completes his probation term, this case will be cleared from his criminal record.

Investigators with the Casper Police Department say in June, Obert and some co-workers dropped off some bank bags at a bank, and it was discovered that there was a tear in one of the bags, large enough for someone to fit their hand inside.

Obert originally said during a bank drop, two of bags got stuck together, and then one fell to the ground, causing a tear in the other one.

A bank teller said about $6,500 was missing from the bag.

When interviewed by police, Obert admitted to taking the money.
