PINEDALE, Wyo. (AP) — Search teams in Wyoming are looking for the 61-year-old brother of Sen. Mark Udall of Colorado, who was due back from a hike in the Wind River Range last week.

The Sublette County Sheriff's Office says James "Randy" Udall, of Carbondale, Colo., is an experienced backpacker who has hiked in the Wind Range many times over the past 30 years. They say Udall hiked into the mountains alone June 20 and was due back Wednesday.

The search area covers some 225 square miles and involves the use of a sheriff's office contract helicopter. The U.S. Forest Service is assisting.

Sen. Udall's office said in a written statement Monday that the senator is concerned but hoping for the best.
