Officials with Natrona County Schools say the district’s robocall system contacted parents of students at CY Middle School, Fort Caspar Academy and Transitions Learning Center within 70 seconds of Casper Police confirming Tuesday’s hostage situation at the Super 8 motel on the city’s west side.

However, some parents of students involved in Tuesday’s lockdowns say the district didn’t contact them fast enough, didn’t contact them at all, or say the district called an inappropriate phone number to inform them about the emergency.

Natrona County Schools spokesperson Kelly Eastes says Tuesday’s lockdowns should compel parents to double check contact information submitted to the district during sign-ups.

"We may or may not have your preferred contact information," Eastes said. "What we would suggest parents do is to log into their Infinite Campus portal, and there's ways they can go in and select how you'd like to get emergency calls, to which number, and things of that sort."

Parents of Natrona County School District students can log into their Infinite Campus portal through this link. Those looking for more information can contact the school district by calling (307) 253-5200.
